Miss you Joyce.....wish you were here with us!
This is from our stop the first night on our trip to Las Vegas. Peter and Fran Galea (shown in the motorcycle pics above) came to my house in Olympia, Washington on Friday afternoon from Vancouver, British Columbia. We had a great evening in Olympia with them. Joyce and I always enjoy their visits. On Saturday morning (June 14), Fran, Peter, and I set off for Las Vegas for our big trade show; Infocomm.
These pics are from the first night in Medford, Oregon. When you have to pack for riding, dress clothes for business, computers, etc....there's a lot of bags to deal with.....
The ride down Interstate 5 was uneventful. We had to take a detour in Chehalis, WA due to really bad traffic (never found out the cause of the miles long line). We went on side roads for 20 miles and then got back on the freeway.
We made a detour in Salem, Oregon to visit an old friend Dave Booth who just bought a farm west of the city.
We really enjoyed the ride from Dave's farm to Medford. Southern Oregon is spectactularly beautiful. Hills and valleys, amazing greens and yellows and oranges....of the fields, the flowers and all.
The sun came out after the 'Dave' stop, and it was gorgeous weather the rest of the day. Perfect temp of about 70 degrees.
I have to get ready to head out for today's ride from here to 'possibly' Carson City, Nevada.
I'll put some lyrics in from a Song that came to Fran as we were riding along yesterday. She actually thought of all the words AND remembered them to write them down...so they will go here as the song for our first day of the ride.....Get Fran to sing it to you when you see her!
Fran's Southern Oregon Ride song:
(Oh, I might say that she was influenced by the visit to Dave's farm)
"I ride a motorcycle,
I ride my Harley all around,
The wind in my hair,
and not a care,
Wheels going round and round.
British Columbia, thru Washington and Oregon,
into California to Nevada
That's where I'll be gone.
Oh to ride the countryside,
back and forth, up and down
It's the best feeling no doubt
that's what it's all about.
I'll ride with good buddies,
I'll ride with strangers that's alright
If you've been on two wheels
and know how it feels,
there is no ending in site."
